In
the fall of 2000, Hamer Center faculty, staff, and undergraduate
students worked with the Lemont Village Association to develop
a vision for the existing Pike Street corridor and traffic calming
measures along adjacent residential streets. This vision is part
of a larger effort by members of the Lemont Village Association
to develop an overall transportation plan for the village that
addresses traffic calming, pedestrian circulation, parking, and
future development of the village area. The concept plan developed
by the Hamer Center will assist the Village Association in obtaining
input from property owners along Pike Street and citizens of the
village, and implementation of a future master plan for the village
core area.
